In all my Road Trips, this has to be my favourite classic car. 1960 Mercedes SL.

Born in Lancashire, educated at Queen Mary school, Lytham St.Annes, but now living in Cheshire. Margie began her career as a fashion model

Her grandmother was an antiques dealer so she grew up very aware of antiques and objets d’art.

Margie’s  interest in antiques became a passion opening her own business in the 1980s. She has studied journalism and contributes to many local magazines as well as the BBC’s Homes and Antiques  magazine.

In 1985 Margie joined the team on the BBC Antiques Road Show, an amazing journey which still continues. She is a member of the team of experts, appraising items on the day.

She is also one of the regular experts and a presenter on the BBC Antiques Road Trip,  the programme in which antiques experts compete against each other and get a budget of £200 to buy antiques and collectables which are then sold at auction.

Margie has been a regular contributor for Granada Television’s Lunchtime Live programme on the antique slot. She has also worked on a Home and Garden program for Granada Breeze, she has also appeared as a panel expert on the BBC’s Going For a Song programme with Michael Parkinson and Eric Knowles.
